Flawed, Yet Chosen

"That's the one"
Those were my exact words when I first saw the picture of him. After weeks of searching and tons of disappointments, I knew in that moment that I had finally found my dog! When we arrived to take him home, there he was. Small and frail, but yet I saw something in him that no one else saw.
"Jamilya, why don't you get the one with full fur. He looks more healthy".
But I just could not shake what I was feeling. I knew that I had to keep him.
He needed me.
After months of nurturing him, his hair began to grown and he gained weight. He began to break out of his shell. The more I cared for him, the better he became.
And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17
One day I stared at Him and was reminded how God does the same for us. He chooses the unlikely ones. The messed up ones. The flawed ones. He sees us and says, "that's the one". That's the one that I desire to be close to. That's the one that I'm going to transform and use to tell of my goodness. That's the one!
Isn't it something that the absolute perfect God relentlessly chases and chooses imperfect people?!
Maybe you've been feeling as if no one wants you. You've been overlooked because of your outward appearance. You've been casted away because of your condition, depression, anxiety. Maybe you feel like you're too broken for God to even love you. Well, I have some amazing new for you: Jesus didn't come for the righteous, but He came for those who are in desperate need of help. You...me. Yes, he came for us!
All we have to do is surrender to His pursuit and receive His love. Let Him care for and nurture you daily. Let Him pour His love upon you and watch how you grow!
Jesus is here for you.
He's calling.
He sees what no one else sees, and still calls you worthy.
You're the one He'll leave the ninety nine for.
He loves you.
